Joining the JHNSA Board leadership as the Chief Engineer to help coordinate the restoration of the ship is Dan Welch who will retire from BAE Systems Southeast Shipyards this month. Dan was an engineer officer on the USS Charles F. Adams and retired as a Captain in the Navy with many years of engineering experience. Both of these retired officers provide invaluable experience to our help us Bring the Adams Home.

Retired Rear Admiral Vic Guillory, who served on USS Towers (DDG-9) as a junior officer and was recently brought aboard as the Mayor’s Military Affairs Department Head, is very well aware of the benefits of having the only naval warship museum in Florida and Georgia in downtown Jacksonville.  All three of these retired officers provide invaluable experience to our help us “Bring the Home the Adams.”

Tickets are $49 and a donation will be made on behalf of the Alhambra to the Adams Class Naval Ship Museum project.

We are excited to have you join us at our meeting on Tuesday, April 3rd to talk about the Adams Class Naval Ship Museum.

For your information and to give some background on our organization, I have included our April Newsletter. Thursday’s meeting is referenced on page 19.

As I mentioned in my previous email, our meetings are held at the Jacksonville Rudder Club (located at 8533 Malaga Avenue Jacksonville, FL 32244). We have a social hour from 6:00 to 7:00 PM with dinner served at 7:00 followed by your presentation.

We would be pleased if you could join us for our social hour and dinner as well.  If Daniel is available or you would like to bring a guest, we would be happy for them to join us as well.  Dinner will be on us.
